Did America's F-35 fighter plane fail? Why the US Air Force wants to get rid of it The US Air Force wants to get rid of its stealth fighter jet F-35. US Airforce chief Charles Brown Jr. said that we need cheap, light fighter jets to replace the F-16 fighter jets of the Cold War era. It will be able to replace expensive and non-reliable stealth fighters with complex technology. He said that any new fighter jet would be equipped with the technology of about fifth generation aircraft. For the past several years, various defense experts in the world have doubted the reliability of American F-35 and F-22 fighter jets. Now the US Air Force chief's claim is questioning the utility of this stealth fighter jet, considered the most modern in the world. The American Airforce began preparations long ago to replace its fleet of F-16 fighter jets. During that time work was going on to make cheap and light fighter aircraft. However, after 20 years of research and development, light combat aircraft were replaced by a heavy and complex technical fighter jet. Its biggest advantage was the American arms manufacturer Lockheed Martin. It sold billions of dollars of F-22 and F-35 fighter jets equipped with its state-of-the-art technology to the American Airforce. The US Air Force F-35 fighter aircraft weighs about 25 tons. The program to build this aircraft was started to replace hundreds of old F-16 aircraft of the American Airforce. However, this fighter aircraft which should have solved the Airforce problem became a problem. Airforce officials said that the US now needs a new fighter aircraft to solve the F-35 problem. An F-35 fighter aircraft costs around $ 100 million. This price is only for the US Air Force. If another country tries to buy it, the price will go up even after the removal of many high-tech devices. To be expensive, maintenance of F-35 fighter aircraft is also very expensive. It has many high-tech devices that have to be replaced after hours of a certain flight. Due to which most of the budget of the Airforce is being spent in its maintenance. The US Air Force currently has about 1000 F-16 fighter aircraft. They fly from US Air Force bases around the world and take care of them in the air. However, the US has not purchased any new F-16 fighter jets from Lockheed Martin since 2001. This means that all F-16 fighter aircraft in the US Air Force are at least 20 years old. In his final interview before leaving his post in January, Will Roper, the team chief who bought fighter jets for the US Air Force, spoke of buying new F-16 fighter jets. However, US Air Force Chief Charles Brown Jr. rejected his suggestion that we cannot take this classic aircraft any more. Brown said it is very difficult to upgrade the F-16 with 17-ton Stealth technology with new software. Instead of ordering the purchase of the new F-16, we should begin a clean-sheet design for the new low-end fighter. After which questions have started to arise whether a huge budget aircraft like F-35 of America has failed. The US Air Force alone would need about 1800 F-35 aircraft to replace the F-16 and A-10. Buying such a large number of stealth fighter jets will not only be very expensive, but it will also have to increase the US defense budget many times. This is the reason why the US military now wants to get rid of this aircraft.
