Brazil vs. Jamaica: schedule, TV show and how to watch the 2019 Women's World Cup online
The Washington Spirit bows at the 2019 World Cup today, with Australia duo Chloe Logarzo and Amy Harrison leading Italy early this morning. They will be followed by Cheyna Matthews and Jamaica in search of a malaise against Brazil, who will be without injured superstar Marta. Finally, England will face Scotland, which is a great opportunity for the world to meet Scottish midfielder Kim Little.

We start with the Matildas, who will be in love with Italy. However, the Azure published 5 shutouts in 8 qualifiers, so despite the odds, they should prove to be a tough opponent for Australia. On the other hand, our hopes here are in Logarzo showing the footwork and the invention that has driven the Spirit's midfield, and that the versatile Harrison also has his chance.

Recommended reading: The Matildas have better expectations of success, but can they reach them? Our preview has questions about that, while there is also the problem that they are confident that Kerr will remain the best player on earth during this tournament. Our preview of Italy says that we have to keep an eye on Manuela Giugliano.

The second game of the day will see Jamaica make its debut in the tournament against a team with great experience in Brazil that, however, seems vulnerable. With Marta (the top scorer of all time in this competition) injured and a streak of nine games (!) Losing in the tournament, this game seems to be the first big annoying tournament.

I'm already on board:

Leaving the bets aside, for our purposes it would be great to see Cheyna Matthews (a block to start, unless she has received some kind of blow) that starts in Jamaica. That is his strong suit, even after losing Kayla McCoy to a pre-tournament injury. Matthews and Khadija "Bunny" Shaw are able to cause problems for any team in the tournament, and if the Reggae Girlz can resist the defense, a fair question given their inexperience, we could see them take down Brazil.

Recommended reading: It just happens that our friend Kim McCauley has written great pieces about Marta and Shaw in recent times, and I recommend both. We also have breakthroughs for As Canarinhas and Girlz Reggae.

The day ends with England against Scotland, you have many people excited simply by the story and the obvious problem of being in the UK. However, from a football perspective, England is considered one of the four best teams in this tournament. Scotland, despite having one of the best players on earth in Kim Little, is considered well below that level.

That does not mean they are unable to make this difficult, however. They should have 5 holders with more than 100 caps, and another (Hayley Lauder) who will get their hundredth if they play today. On the other hand, England is well established, but perhaps its most exciting players are among its youngest. Look out for Beth Mead and Georgia Stanway, who have been funny enough (and, frankly, good enough) that England fans are calling on Phil Neville to be full-time starters.

Recommended reading: there are no less than 6 of the top 50 SB Nation players involved in this. One of them is Fran Kirby, which is one of the biggest questions in the tournament according to its recent form. Our preview of Scotland includes an introduction to Erin Cuthbert, while for the Three Lionesses we are waiting for the first place in this group.
