Prepare for the straight pride parade

I bet you thought that the pride parades took place in June, is not it? Well, at least most of the gay pride parades. Of course, the various parades for the many nationalities that make up the crucible of the United States are scattered throughout the calendar. But there is a different kind of pride in coming to Boston and it will take place in the hottest part of summer. So pack your sunscreen and a cooler with ice water and get ready for the straight pride parade. Wait a minute ... what do you say now? (CBS Boston)

This event is being organized by a group called Super Happy Fun America. (His motto is: "It's great to be direct"). Its president (and organizer of the parade), John Hugo, appears on his website saying: "Heterosexual people are an oppressed majority, we will fight for the right of the straight lines". Everywhere, to express pride in themselves without fear of judgment and hatred. The day will come when the lines will finally be included as equals among all the other orientations. "

So ... well then. It is good to see someone finally defending the oppressed majority. For my part, I have not forgotten the old days of the sixties and seventies when boys chased heterosexual men on the streets, dismissed them from their jobs and encouraged the police while they beat the heterosexual men they met with them. cheers (/ sarcasm)

Look, I understand that there is more than a little resentment simmering over the pranks of the social justice warriors. And I have no doubt that there are people who disapprove of the legalization of gay marriage for religious reasons. (Let's be honest, there are some people who hate homosexuals). But do you really think that heterosexuals are being "oppressed"?

I guess there's no reason why you can not be proud of being straight, white, masculine or whatever you want. Hell, everyone else has some kind of pride organization. But that really only earns points if you do it seriously to express your pride in your group and not as a clandestine maneuver to foment hatred against another person.

More than anything else, this event has the appearance of an intentional excuse to seek a confrontation. For Pete's sake, you chose Milo Yiannopoulos to be the Grand Marshal. How many people do you really think are going to show up to march for this cause? The odds are very good, as are many other controversial events, the number of liberal protesters that you will attract will outnumber the protesters by a factor of at least hundreds. Are you looking for a fight to get out?

I'm sorry to throw cold water on your parade (excuse the change of phrase), but it does not seem to be a good investment of your time. And if someone ends up hurt, you're not going to help anyone. The mayor admits that he has to issue the permit he requested and I'm sure the police will be available to try to protect him, but still. Come on man.
