UCLA baseball faces must win the situation tonight against Michigan
The UCLA Bruins baseball team (51-10) faces elimination tonight after falling to the Michigan Wolverines the night before by 3-2 in Game One of the Los Angeles Super Regional at the stadium Jackie Robinson The first pitch of the game tonight is two at 6 pm PT and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

If the Bruins are going to have a chance tonight, they should hit the ball better than the night before. UCLA only hit one hit in eight innings last night and, although the team had three hits in the ninth inning, scoring two runs, it was too little, too late, as the Bruins needed one more hit, instead of stopping the tied race. Third base

In an interesting twist, Michigan pushes today's scheduled starter Jeff Criswell (7-1, 2.82 ERA) in a salvage situation last night. Criswell faced the last two batters of the game, retiring both and winning the game. It was Criswell's only relief. The usual holder of the Wolverines on Saturday only released nine pitches. Then, he should be

However, it would not be surprising if head coach Erik Bakich instead of projected Sunday starter Tommy Henry (9-5, 3.61 ERA) in tonight's game and Criswell was one of three possible games for the year. After all, lefty Henry got the win over UCLA when the two teams met in the regular season.

The pitching situation at UCLA is more resolved. The regular opener for Saturday's Bruins, Jack Ralston (11-1, 2.55 ERA) will take the hill to the Bruins tonight. Ralston should be hungry for a win, as he lost his first and only loss of the season last weekend to Loyola Marymount when he allowed three runs and six hits in six innings and a third of the innings that Ralston attacked last weekend.

The loss of LMU last weekend was not a bad start for Ralston and could be considered a "bad luck" loss. Ralston simply did not get much support from the Bruins bats. UCLA only demanded two runs on seven hits, losing 3-2.

Sounds familiar?

The Bruins lost last night but they only had four hits. Jack Stronach and Jeremy Stronach struck out three times in four at-bats, including a swing punch for the final outside the game. Ydens struck out twice and none of the players reached the base. Both players must be motivated

Last weekend, after falling on the elimination leg, the Bruins gathered to win their last three games to win a place in the Super Regional Round. To get to Omaha, the Bruins face a similar task, needing victories tonight and tomorrow.

It will be a tough test against UM, but the Bruins have been a loser all season, recovering to win the final two games of the weekend series after the first game against Georgia Tech, Southern Cal and Stanford.

This is the open thread of the UCLA Bruins against the Wolverines Los Angeles Super Regional Game Two of the Los Angeles Wolverines.

Come on Bruins! Bring home 119!
