The camera captures a shocking moment that lightning struck a boat in Boston.

BOSTON - When the powerful storms came to Massachusetts on Saturday, one person had a very unlucky moment for the owner of a ship.

A passer-by recorded lightning striking the boat docked in South Boston in a video obtained by CNN affiliate WFXT.

The owner was not on the boat and nobody was injured.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a warning for heavy rains and flooding in the Boston area on Saturday afternoon.

The thunderstorms, which ended around 9:45 p.m., produced about 1 to 1.5 inches of rain, the NWS said. The floods led to the closure of some highway exits.

The shocking video also caught the attention of the weather service, which he said was a "great example of why we say 'When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors!'"
