Corona virus has caused a lot of destruction in America. In such a situation, American citizens consider themselves more secure in India. US officials say many American citizens prefer to live in India.

Addressing reporters in Washington, US State Department official Ian Brownlee said, "We called the Americans present in India to return to the country on weekends by special aircraft." Our staff in India called 800 citizens and asked if they would like to come by flight today. We received positive response from only 10 people. Only 10 out of 800. Therefore this number is giving us an indication of uncertainty. 'He said that we are tracking 24,000 Americans present in India.

Damu Ravi, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs and in-charge of Kovid-19 response, told reporters that the ministry has facilitated repatriation of 20,473 foreign nationals from India. The UK plans to operate 12 more charter flights this week from Amritsar, New Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. In the first round of flights last week, around 20,000 out of the 35,000 British nationals registered in India expressed a desire to return.
