Jakarta: The statement of a female child protection officer is under discussion amid rising cases of corona virus in Indonesia. The woman, named Sitti Hikmavati, had in the past warned women not to bathe in swimming pools with men, as they might become pregnant. However, after the controversy, the government has dismissed this woman officer. It is being told that President Joko Widodo himself recommended this dismissal.

Sitti had said that women should be careful and bathe in the same swimming pool with men because doing so risks the risk of getting pregnant without having sex. Following the City's remarks, the Commissioner of the National Child Protection Commission of Indonesia formed an inquiry committee and the female officer was dismissed on Saturday.

In an interview to Tribune News last February, Sitti claimed that women should avoid bathing with men in swimming pools to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Sitti had said in the interview that men have a strong variety of sperm, which makes women pregnant by bathing in a swimming pool. Sex is not necessary for this, men get excited by seeing women in the pool and this increases the risk of pregnancy.
