If I would have made my childhood love list, Tony Award winning actor Roger would have been at the top. Not because he knew what it was, but because he was the voice of the classic Disney cartoon, Hercules. Now Disney will have to hunt for a truly live person to play it as it has ordered a remake of the animated film. Sure, there were many unsuccessful live-action Hercules in the last decade, but they had no lyrics. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel writer Dave Calham will be in charge of the script. Joe and Anthony Russo will direct, and learn at least one or two things about how to put Pegasi in their Disney films. The Hollywood Reporter says the project is still "far from the casting stage", though Disney wouldn't be crazy to capitalize on Ariana Grande's performance "I'm not going to say I'm in love" and the firm Megara. While it is unclear whether this remake will also be a musical comedy or, like the next Mulan, take a more action-oriented approach, Disney is working on a Hercules musical for the stage, so this may be a link. Oh, and it would all be worth it if Danny DeVito reprized his role as Phil in live action. We want to see Danny DeVito shirtless with realistic kickstands.
