Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias has received a grim prognosis for the progression of his cancer.

In a letter posted online, Zacharias' daughter and Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) CEO Sarah Davis gave an update on her father's health.

Although he recently had back surgery and cancer treatment, Davis says his family is preparing for the last days of Zacharias.

"We just learned that although my father's sacral tumor responded to chemotherapy, the area where the cancer metastasized actually worsened," says Davis. "Her oncologist informed us that this cancer is very rare in its aggressiveness and that there are no options for further treatment.

"Medically speaking, they did everything they could."

Zacharias, his wife and daughter Naomi are returning from Houston to their Atlanta home so their families can be together "as long as the Lord gives us," said Davis.

Despite the gloomy outlook on Zacharias' condition, Davis says his family remains firm and thankful in his faith,

"We are so thankful to God for his kindness and love that we have seen it in many ways. The love and care they have given us is one of the most beautiful expressions of God's goodness", said Davis.

We know that God has planned and numbered each of our days, and only He knows how many other Ravi will know on this earth, ”writes Davis. However, one day, probably sooner than later, we will serve without our beloved founder. I know his love and heritage will convince and inspire us to serve his Lord even more than we have ever seen him before. Although we are full of so many emotions, we are also at peace, based on the truth that God knows everything and sees everything and is sovereign and good.

"I think of the great joy my father will have and that comforts me."

In an online article, Zacharias talked about his health by sharing the 48th wedding anniversary of him and his wife.

"Our 48th wedding anniversary was different from the others, but three things remain the same: our love for each other, the gift of family and friends that fill us with kindness and the permanent fidelity of our great God", explains Zacharias.

Davis also shared his family's gratitude for the care, friendship and love his father received from medical teams at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he underwent treatment.

After several weeks of separation, our family is looking forward to spending time together, "said Davis before speaking to the RZIM team.

"They are also our family. We love you and we are grateful to share these lean places with you. Thank you for what each of you does to faithfully support my father's work and vocation, and to advance the cause of l around the world. world. "

Zacharias expressed his gratitude to the good wishes and prayers of people around the world.

"Thank you to everyone who sent greetings and words of encouragement to Margie and me this time. Please keep us in your prayers as I fight cancer and accept our sincere gratitude for your love and your friendship. "

"'And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of them is love.' - 1 Corinthians 13:13 ", concludes Zacharias in his publication.

Davis also thanks people around the world for their faithful prayers for Zacharias and his family throughout their journey.

"Truly, the words do not convey the depth of our gratitude for his many expressions of love."
