Coronavirus updates in Illinois: Here's what happens on Wednesday with COVID-19 in the Chicago area

Illinois health officials announced on Tuesday 1,076 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 30 other confirmed deaths. The total fracture of a series of six consecutive days with more than 1,200 reported cases. This brings the number of confirmed cases to the state to 173,731 deaths and 7,746 deaths in 102 provinces.

The state's cases peaked on May 12, with more than 4,000 confirmed cases per day, then even after the country moved to a new reopening phase, cases decreased until mid-June, when the state experienced two days with less than 500 confirmed cases. Since then, with cases increasing in other states, the average number of cases in Illinois has increased for seven days, and officials have warned that the restrictions may have to be re-imposed.
