Create quick and simple videos for free with the YouTube Video Creation Tool
Google is currently testing a beta version of a new tool that allows advertisers to create free short video ads called YouTube Video Builder. Since the tool is still in beta testing, you have to request access, which can be done here:

This new tool is great for small businesses that don't have a budget for movie kits, videographers, or companies that don't need much production. It's ideal for those times when you can photograph a message with some simple images and text, and it's a simple, easy, and free tool to do it with.

In short, YouTube Video Builder allows advertisers to create a video of fixed origins, such as images, text and logos, and add some music to it to create a short video. The video can be customized, with different layouts, colors, fonts, etc., and you end up with a 6 or 15 second video clip (depending on the type of video you choose) that conveys your chosen message and / or goal.

To see how the tool works, watch this two-minute video:

How to get started

In order to be able to create a video, there are some requirements that you need:

Your subscription email address must be linked to a Google Account

Access to the YouTube channel

Legal rights to all images and logos

The latest version of Chrome

But once you get these things, you can go!

To create your first video, you need:

Go to in Chrome (if you see an error message this is because you do not have access yet and you will need to place an order here: forms / videobuilderbeta / )

Once you log in, you will see several formats to choose from to display, present or feature your brand / app for example. Just choose the product most relevant to your business / product. Each one requires a different number of images, texts, etc., so choose an image that suits your assets.

Choose your base color and text color, depending on your brand

Upload your logo

Upload photos (maximum image size is 2MB) - the number of images you need will depend on the layout you choose

Add text, this could be your company font, a call to action, your web address, etc. There are only a few characters available, so there is something short and fast.

Choose a font from the catalog

Choose some music from the library

Click Create Video

Save your video and upload it to your YouTube channel

I've played with the tool and as long as you have some pretty pictures to use, in the appropriate sizes (these vary depending on the layout you choose) and the formats (JPG or PNG), it's nice and easy to use. All you have to do is plan what you want to say in the video. Choose some pictures that depict your message, write some attractive strains to go with it and it is amazing what you can create in such a short period of time.

As with Google ads, there are character limitations of text for each slide, etc., so it can sometimes be difficult to say exactly what you want to say, but with some thinking and manipulation of ideas, you can quickly create a 6 or 15 second video.
