Police: 17 bullets, some killed in 3 shooting incidents, in Cincinnati

Cincinnati police said 17 people - including some potential deaths - were shot at three separate locations early Sunday morning.

Assistant Chief Constable Paul Newdigit told news outlets that in one shooting alone in the city's Over the Rine neighborhood, 10 people were killed, and possibly two.

In Walnut Hills, a block away from the Harriet Beecher Stowe home, three people were killed. In the Avondal district, four people were shot dead, including two that police said may have died.

The media reported that the shooting took place within 60 to 90 minutes of each other, but Neudigate said that "they seem to be two separate incidents but they are horrific and tragic." No suspicious information was immediately available.

“One wild night in Cincinnati. Given perhaps 17 victims, as many as four may have been fatal at this time. why? That would be the question, said Noidighat.

In July, The Enquirer reported that the city saw a rise in gun violence and killings in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2019.
