The Open Thread of Football Thursday Night: The Bengals in the Browns

a fight between two midfielders for number one on Thursday Night Football.

The Cincinnati Bengals are coming out of a heartbreaking loss to Shipper, as a field goal from 31 yards - due to Randy Bullock's leg spasm, apparently - failed to send the match into overtime. It was an otherwise quiet appearance for the 2020 NFL Draft Top Pick, Joe Burrow. Burrow has yet to throw a touchdown pass, although he did make the pass for the first time in his career. In what will likely be the year of rebuilding, Bengalis are looking for signs of talent from their youth

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are looking to restore the magic that captivated the NFL in their junior season at Baker Mayfield. Top Pick in 2018 NFL Draft, Mayfield has been hot and cold since the junior season, and the trend continued last week versus the Ravens. Baker failed to go past 200 yards as the team suffered a 38-6 defeat. Meanwhile, Ravens love Lamar Jackson, quarterback in the first round of 2018. If Mayfield wants to prove his ability to play at an elite level, then doing so against Bengals is a good place to start.
