Biden says that deception in the polls is the only way he could lose the US election
Democratic candidate Joe Biden said the only way he could lose the 2020 election was through "trickery," before adding later that he would accept the election results.

"Make sure you vote," said the former Vice President of Electors at a campaign station in Pennsylvania, "because the only way we lose that is through deception that happens around the polls."

Biden said President Trump was trying to discourage voting by questioning the security of polls in the mail and telling supporters to "go to the polls and watch very carefully" on Election Day.

Before leaving Pennsylvania, Biden clarified his comments to reporters. He said that his remarks were "taken out a little out of context," adding: "I will accept the results of this election, this period."

"What I was referring to are the attempts being made to try to influence the people and scare them from voting. You should not turn to them," the Democratic candidate said.

Biden has repeatedly said that Trump will try to "steal" the victory if he does not win the election.

The Biden campaign enlisted hundreds of lawyers and volunteers to oversee Election Day and prevent chaos.

When asked if he would accept a peaceful transition of power in the first presidential debate, Trump postponed, instead decrying the mail vote widely.

Before that, a reporter had pressed the president in the past. "A victory, a loss, or a draw in these elections, will you commit yourself here today for a peaceful transfer of power after the elections?"

"We have to see what happens," Trump said during the White House press conference. "You know I've been complaining so badly about the ballot papers, and the ballot is a disaster."

Ditch the ballots and you'll get very peaceful - there's no going transmission, honestly. There will be a continuation, Trump said, pointing to the ballots mailed. "The ballot papers are out of control. You know him, and who knows him better than anyone? The Democrats know that better than anyone else."
