The Wizard of Oz is appointed to exchange Atom Exeter

The Christmas spirit can never be defeated, just like Santa, Bantu will always find a way to appear!

This is definitely the case at Exeter Corn Exchange, where preparations are underway for this year's mummering, The Wizard of Oz!

In true theatrical tradition, the show must continue and with the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers are working hard to ensure this year's production allows for safe family fun, while taking extra precautions.

These include social distances, extra cleaning and a shorter operating time with no time lag.

Claire Amal Ghossein, Senior Adviser on Societies and Culture, said: “We are delighted to be planning the return of the mummering to the Corn Exchange. Obviously it has been a difficult year for everyone in town and elsewhere so some light rest is most welcome. What better way to present this with those more festive traditions which is the pantomime.

"We know that Kickline will deliver high-quality production again and that the Corn Exchange is the perfect place to ensure the audience socializes safely. The Wizard of Oz is a classic Christmas game, so seeing it presented as a mummering is very exciting and will provide an injection of fun in Our lives this Christmas. "

Last year, Snow White was the company's most popular show ever, garnering sparkling reviews and even being nominated for an Exeter Living Award!

Director Ian Berry explains, “In recent years, some old Bantu titles like“ Robinson Crusoe ”have fallen in popularity. Nobody wants to see“ Cinderella ”every year, so we're glad that“ The Wizard of Oz ”has become a new favorite of Bantu! Let's face it, when You think Oz, you think of the classic Christmas TV, so it's the perfect story to rock your Bantu look!

Expect loads of crazy singing, cheering, hissing, booing, magic combos, stunning outfits, and Exeter's favorite, Daniel Page, back in the air in a fun flying sequence!

All in all, fans seem ready to enjoy the precious Christmas tradition with confidence! Families can expect to take home a pile of wonderful holiday memories!
